Write for Ten

Ian Li

I walked uphill on bare bricks. Above the hill is one corner of the Schenley golf course. The course is white; its carefully trimmed grass covered by snow that recklessly landed around Pittsburgh.

It was evening. I was walking to my car from Skibo gym where I had karate practice. I was carrying a canvas bag with my clothes and equipment.

Others have walked through the course today. They have established a track for others to follow. I follow them. I walked through the packed ice with more ease.

The course had a reddish glow: the warm streetlights reflecting on the cold snow. I reminisced about previous walks.
