I build tools that help people better understand their behavior, so that they can make better decisions about different aspects of their lives, such as their health, finance, productivity, and lifestyle. The tools I’ve built include visualizations that make it easier to explore and analyze multiple kinds of data together and tracking tools that make it easier to collect data anywhere, anytime. My work uses HCI methods to find out what problems people experience when they are self-tracking and exploring their data. I use the lessons from these studies to help me improve the designs of the tools that I build.
